Greeting card adapted from Compendium Rarissimum Totius Artis Magicae, c. 1775. Printed in England on a light cream, 300gsm carbon-neutral Italian paper, made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste.
Compendium Rarissimum contains 31 extraordinary watercolour drawings of demons, and three pages of magical and cabbalistic signs. This depiction of Beelzebub has rabbit ears, a tiger’s face, clawed fingers and bird’s legs. Wellcome Collection.
