Adapted from Histoire des arbres forestiers de l’Amérique septentrionale (1813) by François André Michaux with illustrations by Pierre-Joseph Redouté and Pancrace Bessa. Along with his father, Michaux spent many years surveying the flora of North America, resulting in a series of influential books.
